ABOUT

The Kutztown University Marching Unit (KUMU) is a marching band with a great band tradition, and membership in KUMU is open to any interested student enrolled at Kutztown University. The Marching Unit is an energetic part of the KU Campus Community which provides music, marching, and entertainment for all KU Golden Bears Football games, select away games, marching band festivals/competitions, professional sporting events, parades, and additional school spirit activities. The Marching Unit is currently composed of Winds, Brass, Battery Percussion (drums), and Colorguard members who bring with them a wide variety of talents and experiences.
Membership in KUMU requires dedication, hard work, and a willingness to share your spirit with members and friends of the KU community. As a member of the Marching Unit you will provide support for KU sports teams and develop life-long friendships, meaningful memories, and self pride.
The KUMU Colorguard prides itself on bringing an exciting level of talent and energy to the field. Becoming a part of this group means becoming part of a family with tradition and support. Love, trust, and commitment lead the colorguard to success while still having as much fun as possible! In the upcoming seasons, KUMU CG is pushing for more growth and improvement than ever before.
Currently the group consists of about 20 students, with 2 captains and 3 coaches leading. The guard spins flag, rifle, and sabre with select feature twirlers. Stay tuned for our 2017 cast list!
